Research

Objective: To research and develop novel usable approaches to product interaction and experience. Current objectives:

  • To build a conceptual framework about user-interface (UI) pattern creation in interaction and communication design based on a corpus of “interaction-sentence” examples from design practice.
  • To develop and test, based on this schema, a semiotics-based design, analysis, and evaluation method (e.g., semiotic heuristics).

Interests

  • Media philosophy
  • Interaction and communication design
  • Product semantics
  • UI evaluation, usability
  • Language and semiotics of the user-interface and interaction
  • Semiotic Engineering
